The Room receives the award for best dance film at Riu Rau Film Festival

Last Saturday, September 11, the last screening session of the 10th edition of the Riu Rau film festival was held together with the awards ceremony in Jávea.

The short film The Room by Laida Aldaz Arrieta won the award for best dance film. At the same time, other prizes were awarded such as best Fiction Short Film, Best LGTBIQ + Short Film, Best Social Fiction Short Film …

Produced by ZINETIKA Festival, The Room (SP, 2020) is a short film directed and choreographed by Laida Aldaz that investigates creation in closed spaces.

A room with a closed door is all Laida needs for a choreography of looped movements, with Giuseppe Di Francisca as Editor and Cameraman, to create the collective imagination that characterises the film. Joaquín Breton is the Assistant Director, Cruz Isael Mata the Assistant Choreographer and the music is by Luisillo Kalandraka.

Riu Rau Film Festival is an international festival. It was created by the non-profit association Escola de Cinema Riurau with the intention of offering a space for meeting, dissemination, development and competition for short filmmakers from all over the world.

ZINETIKA FESTIVAL: VII. Edition

The poster for the 7th ZINETIKA Festival is now available, with the festival being held from November 18th to December 4th 2022 in Pamplona, San Sebastian and Bilbao with a programme based on short video-dance films performances, workshops and a masterclass.

 

This year’s international event has added two new venues. The Guggenheim Museum will become the new Winnetka venue in Bilbao as part of the TopARTE programme in its 25th year.

In addition, the Euskadi Institute of Architecture becomes the new venue in San Sebastian, while the Trueba Cinemas will continue showing the short films. The vents in Pamplona will take place in the Civivox Condestable cultural centre.

The programme includes a masterclass given by the film-maker Marina Lameiro, the presentation of the film "Luna Negra" and the performance entitled "In Perspective".
