During two days, we will create from the following topics: Telling a cinematographic story using dance as a tool and how to use dance, not as an abstract object but as a real narrative reason.

Performing artists and filmmakers will work together to tell a particular story within a given time, using as raw material dance and the framework imposed by the camera.

Taught

Edith Depaule

Edith Depaule, choreographer, director and passionate teacher. She taught for 13 years at the Conservatory of Mons (Belgium), she was the assistant of belgian choreographer Michèle Anne De Mey and currently she produces feature films and documentaries. Her latest short film "The Dancing", that will be shown in Zinetika festival, has been selected in more than 50 international festivals and has received several awards such as:
 

  • Best fiction short movie in Festival Int. de Cine de Pasto (Colombia)
  • Best international short movie & Critics award in Festival de cortometrajes International “Piélagos en Corto” (Spain)
  • Best international videodance & Public award in Jumping Frames International Dance Video Festival (China)
  • Special jury award in Festival CourtsCourts (France)
  • 3rd Award of best international short movie in Festival Kaliber35 Munich International Competition (Germany)
  • Special mention of the jury in Brussels Film Festival (Belgium) and others.
     

Edith Depaule is currently writing the script for her first feature film with Philippe Blasband, a musical called "The Raining Sisters”, and her first documentary "Dancing Nurses” is in the editing process.
