Dantzagunea (a Zinetika collaborator) has organised this laboratory as a precursor to the festival. This workshop deals with dance and video and is directed by Ibon Taboada and Oihana Varela.
The workshop is designed to blend dance and video, moulding use of the camera to dance so as to find a dialogue between the scrutiny of the camera and the expressiveness of dance. Participants will learn how to connect space (placement)-movement-camera to create different ambiences.
After an introduction to video dance, improvisation resources will be developed and those with the camera will start to internalise movement based on the proposed exercises. The first day will deal with the static and the second with the moving camera.

IBON TABOADA
Director, cameraman, dancer. Thekrowfilms, could be defined as “Feel maker”, sensation maker. Capture the moment, the precise moment capturing experiences of the present but endowing them with eternity. Beyond seeing, knowing how to look and frame what we are and represent in a natural way.
Visual artist by profession. I have worked for the Basque Team as a cameraman, to the production company Akhonmedia, traveling to Scotland, Germany, Serbia.
Creator of the Making of a Larkin Poyton project called “Project Home”, international video dance, created in Iceland, with dancers from differents parts of the world.
Director and cameraman in two video dances and a documentary of the director Oihana Varela, “Reseteo” (2017), “Unidad” (2018) and “Where is the movement born? The art of the invisible” (2018), which have traveled to international festivals of dance and cinema, Cyprus, Ireland, Malta, Berlin, Basque Country. Videoclip creator for Bengo, Mjfb, Microfeel, 2lovers. I have worked on Eitb programs on Youtubetarrak, GazteOk. in photography y have designed the poster of the pianist Iñar Sastre.
As a dancer I have participated in different national break dance championships. I have been a judge and presenter of different championships such as Break on Stage, SeriusBattle, IrunBreak… Advertising model for Eroski, Volkswagen Polo, Vodafone/Ono.
OIHANA VARELA
Trained in different disciplines of dance, but above all in contemporary and african dance in the Basque Country, Catalonia, France and Belgium.
The great curiosity to investigate the human body and its movements leads me to study Osteopathy. Especially, it was due to my body and how it affected my health. But in the end it has become my profession and the way I see life.
Uniting my two professional facets I have created a training called “Osteopathy applied to dance”
In it we work on the internal movement of the body and then apply it to improvisation and creation. I am imparting these laboratories in different programs of Donostia Kultura, and dance associations in collaboration with the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, Dantzagunea and the Basque Government.
Above all, I have dedicated myself to teaching, but a few years ago I have started to create short pieces. the las “Trans-lucid” (2017).
In this adventure, it has also given me to investigate a little the dance video and we hace successfully made on “Reseteo” (2017), which is traveling internationally, Ireland, Cyprus, Berlin, Malta, Basque Country.
Currecntly, I have released a documentary called “Where is the movement born? The art of the invisible”. Within this documentary we have integrated a video dance “Unidad” which has been premiered at the Zinetika dance and film festival. November 2018.
