Once again, Zinetika celebrated the connection between dance, cinema, and new technologies, offering a unique platform for exploring the interaction of these artistic languages and their capacity to transform narrative and bodily expression.
The jury, composed of Alicia Otaegui (visual artist), Oskia Ugarte (Director of the Huarte Contemporary Art Center), and Juan Pablo Huércanos (Deputy Director of the Jorge Oteiza Museum), awarded this edition’s prizes.
The Best Direction award went to Nora Rosenthal for her work in Nine Easy Dancers. The jury praised its well-structured form, full of resonance and humor, and its use of dance as a mediating element between real people and actors in the reconstruction of personal memory.
The Best Film award was given to In the Same Boat by Mervi Junkkonen and Mia Malviniemi, recognized for its ability to integrate dance as a therapeutic element in biographical narratives and for its claim that any body can be the subject of dance.
The EITB Audience Award went to Off Ground by Boudewijn Koole, which received massive support from attendees, demonstrating the special connection this work had with the audience.
